After the prices of 2012 Versa sedan had been revealed on low cost, Nissan announced the prices of its sub-compact series, which is the hatchback version with five doors, on July 18, 2011. Although a newer version of this hatchback model has been launched by Japanese company, such as in China, this five-door type goes ahead with its design in the US, namely first-generation design.

Platform architecture, that is less big than the hatchback, bases 2012 Versa sedan of the States market, and so does the Micra supermini in particular. The new refinements of this Versa are limited to the changes of the equipment including the addition of the earlier content of the Premium Package on the SL model as its standard equipment and four new packages presentation on the S model. These include four packages: the Convenience Package; the Nissan Navigation Package; the wheel package from the alloy of Aluminum with 15 inches length; and the last, the combination of those three earlier packages, Special Edition Package, that will be at a savings of $900 rather than if they are ordered separately.

Now, the standard system for all models is the Vehicle Dynamic Control. Supported by the engine that has a capacity of 1.8 liters and 122 HP, the 1.8 S model is offered with two choices—manual with six speeds or automatic with four speeds; while the 1.8 SL model with the Xtronic CVT transmission of Nissan.

The prices include the costs of handling and destination $760. They are set at $19,150 for the 1.8 SL, $16,140 for the 4-speed automatic 1.8 S and $15,140 for the 6-speed manual 1.8 S.
